Job Purpose

ECG designs the world's next communications platforms, from voice to data to meetings and collaboration. We also help people get help when they need it through reliable 911 service engineering.

The Member of Technical Staff works as part of the team designing, implementing, and maintaining communications services. 

ECG is looking for a Member of Technical Staff to join our group of consultants. Among the Carrier Voice and Collaboration industry, ECG is known for Network Design, Integration and Consulting. Our clients include some of the largest service providers and enterprises in the USA and beyond, including Cox Communications, Vonage/Ericsson, US DOJ, Liberty Latin America, CSpire, and the University of Virginia.

Your role ECG would be to help our clients design or operate their services and networks. This could include:

  • Testing services and features for communication and collaboration technologies
  • Network Review and Analysis
  • Cybersecurity Analysis and Documentation
  • Configuration and Change planning for Linux servers, Session Border Controllers (Metaswitch, Oracle, Sansay) SBC, VoIP Application Software (such as Metaswitch, Genband, BroadWorks)
  • IP networking, VoIP troubleshooting, and related topics.
  • Software Development in Java or other languages
  • Day to day Troubleshooting

This position is available anywhere in the United States. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Essential to have: Substantial work experience, or BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, or advanced degree in a technical field such as Philosophy, Logic, Mathematics, Computer Science, Programming, Electrical Engineering, or Electronics. However, candidates with different educational backgrounds and relevant skills are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and tenacity in working through technical challenges.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to thoroughness and accuracy in all tasks.

Helpful Skills and Qualifications

  • Desire to grow and learn new technologies to help humans connect and communicate
  • Proficiency in Telecommunications Knowledge and Technologies.
  • Experience in Network Design and Implementation.
  • Familiarity with network hardware including Routers, Hubs, and Switches.
  • Knowledge of Load Balancing and Scalability principles.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing complex tasks and making informed decisions.
  • Experience with SIP, RTP, BroadWorks, Oracle, or other Session Border Controllers (SBCs), and Metaswitch is advantageous.
